Peggy had proudly set our kitchen table for our evening meal and put pans out and three cans of food which would be our dinner. For some reason, when I looked at those pans and cans, I felt brokenhearted. We would have only hamburgers for our Christmas dinner tomorrow.
I stood inside the cold small kitchen, misery overwhelmed me. For the very first time in my life, I doubted the existence and his mercy, as well as the coldness in my heart was colder than ice.
The doorbell rang and Peggy ran fleetly to answer it, calling that it must be Santa Claus. Then I heard a man talking heartily to her and went to the door. When he had gone I could only stare at the boxes. Peggy and I sat on the floor and opened them. An enormous doll, three times the size of the one I had bought for her. Gloves. Candy. Then we decorated the small tree and marveled at it. I put Peggy to bed and set up her gifts around the tree along with a sweet peace flooded me like a benediction. I had some hope once again. I could even examine the sheaf of bills with out cringing.
Lately divorced, I was in my 20s, had no job and was on my way downtown to go the rounds of the employment offices. I had no umbrella, for my old 1 had fallen apart, and I could not afford one more 1.
I sat down within the streetcar--and there against the seat was a wonderful silk umbrella with a silver manage inlaid with gold and necks of bright enamel. I had in no way observed anything so lovely.
I examined the deal with and saw a name engraved among the golden scrolls. The usual procedure would have been to turn in the umbrella to the conductor, but on impulse I decided to take it with me and obtain the owner myself.
I got off the streetcar in a downpour and thankfully opened the umbrella to protect myself. Then I searched a telephone book for the name on the umbrella and found it. I called and a lady answered.

Bells rang and youngsters shouted within the bitter dusk of the evening, and windows had been lighted and everyone was running and laughing. But there must be no Christmas for me, I knew, no gifts, no remembrance whatsoever.

stuff in life
Boss talked with my about my resignation. He said a lot to me, but my choice is firm.
Then he asked my next goal, my answer: maybe sales, it depends. Boss said that: It's excellent, in domestic or foreign? shop or net?.blur...within the end, he wished my career will probably be far better. Thanks!
Soon after holiday, concerning my resignation, charger also talked with me this morning, she hoped that I could insist to the end of this month. Certainly, she said sth to me. I could have an understanding of it. So I promised her.
Inside the meantime, she is type to me, as well as other coworkers. I'm grateful from the bottom of my heart.
Lately, there was 1 poor news from her young brother. We all feel sorry for that.

To live in the dream
Currently I see a movie named Inception played Leonardo DiCaprio. I hope that I can master this method to control my own dream. The actual life is so tough that I can choose to escape from it and come into my created dream. I can live happily with my loved ones and absolutely nothing can disturb my life in my dream. In my eyes, the real life is often a sort of dream that you can not put it under control. You are required to undergo the pressure, competition, disappointment, frustration, desperation, hopelessness and so on. Under this circumstance , why not have a relaxation by the way of a superb dream and adjust your state. Maybe you may say in this case nobody will prefer to live inside the actual world, as a result, the world is crowded of all of the sleeping persons, then who will function to create our necessities. A Sky Angel
In 1978 I became a flight attendant for a major airline. Earning my wings was the culmination of a childhood dream that I set for myself after my first plane trip at the age of five years. Like many others before me, I fell in love with the romance of air, adventure and helping others.
I flew hundreds of flights since graduation, but it stands out among many.
We flew from Los Angeles to Washington, DC, when I answered a call light to sink into the trainer cabin. There I found a young mother struggling with her child. Everything was a mess, to say the least, and his mother, who was near hysteria, he said he had no more diapers or other clothing on the plane.
Between the tears, informed me that they had lost the night before their flight to Los Angeles because he had little money, she and her son had spent the night on the floor of the airport. While not expected to miss the flight, was forced to use most of its supplies and all the money he had to feed them.
With the saddest eyes I've ever seen, he continued. She told me she was on her way to New Hampshire to offer his son in the family who was adopted. He could not support both.
As she stood in front of me, crying, holding my son is beautiful, I could see the desperation and despair on their faces. And as a mother of three beautiful daughters, I could feel her pain.
I immediately rang the call button and the flight attendants had sought the help of other flight attendants. They brought cloth napkins in first class for easy cleaning of both mother and child. I met and got my bag, because she and I were the same size, I gave him a sweater and a pair of pants that I brought to my call. Then I asked if the family could spare extra diapers, milk and clothes for the baby. After the young mother and her son had changed his clothes and the baby slept, I sat with her, holding her hand, trying to provide support and comfort for the rest of the flight.
After landing, I have a market for the next flight, which leads them to their final destination, the separation. I informed the agent of the door and the crew of the new auxiliary on the situation and asked them to give special attention.
With tears in his eyes I gave her a hug and said, "She showed me the true meaning of courage and love of a mother. I will never forget you."
As she thanked me for everything I had done, I whispered, "You're not the flight attendant, you're an angel from heaven." Touch my flight attendant wings, she continued: "And what are your angel wings."
With these words he turned and walked along the catwalk, her baby in her arms, and flew to New Hampshire.
Although I am no longer a flight attendant, my "angel wings" are still visible in the view in my office. And every time I see them I remember this young woman, her child and the gift she gave me this special day - we really are all spiritual beings in human form of travel.

All you don't forget about your child becoming an infant is the incredible awe you felt about the precious miracle you developed. You learned to apply makeup in two minutes and brush your teeth inside the rearview mirror1 mainly because the only time you had to your self was after you had been stopped at red lights. You considered painting your automobile yellow and posting a "taxi" sign on the lawn next to the garage door. Why are you so beautiful
There were a sensitivity and a beauty to her that have nothing to do with looks. She was one to be listened to, whose words were so easy to take to heart.
It is said that the true nature of being is veiled. The labor of words, the expression of art, the seemingly ceaseless buzz that is human thought all have in common the need to get at what really is so. The hope to draw close to and possess the truth of being can be a feverish one. In some cases it can even be fatal, if pleasure is one's truth and its attainment more important than life itself. In other lives, though, the search for what is truthful gives life.
I used to find notes left in the collection basket, beautiful notes about my homilies and about the writer's thoughts on the daily scriptural readings. The person who penned the notes would add reflections to my thoughts and would always include some quotes from poets and mystics he or she had read and remembered and loved. The notes fascinated me. Here was someone immersed in a search for truth and beauty. Words had been treasured, words that were beautiful. And I felt as if the words somehow delighted in being discovered, for they were obviously very generous to the as yet anonymous writer of the notes. And now this person was in turn learning the secret of sharing them. Beauty so shines when given away. The only truth that exists is, in that sense, free.
It was a long time before I met the author of the notes.
One Sunday morning, I was told that someone was waiting for me in the office. The young person who answered the rectory door said that it was "the woman who said she left all the notes." When I saw her I was shocked, since I immediately recognized her from church but had no idea that it was she who wrote the notes. She was sitting in a chair in the office with her hands folded in her lap. Her head was bowed and when she raised it to look at me, she could barely smile without pain. Her face was disfigured, and the skin so tight from surgical procedures that smiling or laughing was very difficult for her. She had suffered terribly from treatment to remove the growths that had so marred her face.
We chatted for a while that Sunday morning and agreed to meet for lunch later that week.
As it turned out we went to lunch several times, and she always wore a hat during the meal. I think that treatments of some sort had caused a lot of her hair to fall out. We shared things about our lives. I told her about my schooling and growing up. She told me that she had worked for years for an insurance company. She never mentioned family, and I did not ask.
We spoke of authors we both had read, and it was easy to tell that books are a great love of hers.
I have thought about her often over the years and how she struggled in a society that places an incredible premium on looks, class, wealth and all the other fineries of life. She suffered from a disfigurement that cannot be made to look attractive. I know that her condition hurt her deeply.
Would her life have been different had she been pretty? Chances are it would have. And yet there were sensitivity and a beauty to her that had nothing to do with looks. She was one to be listened to, whose words were so easy to take to heart. Her words came from a wounded but loving heart, very much like all hearts, but she had more of a need to be aware of it, to live with it and learn from it. She possessed a fine-tuned sense of beauty. Her only fear in life was the loss of a friend.
How long does it take most of us to reach that level of human growth, if we ever get there? We get so consumed and diminished, worrying about all the things that need improving, we can easily forget to cherish those things that last. Friendship, so rare and so good, just needs our care--maybe even the simple gesture of writing a little note now and then, or the dropping of some beautiful words in a basket, in the hope that such beauty will be shared and taken to heart.
The truth of her life was a desire to see beyond the surface for a glimpse of what it is that matters. She found beauty and grace and they befriended her, and showed her what is real.

Relationship that Lasts
if somebody tells you, “ i'll love you for ever,” will you believe it?
i don't think there's any reason not to. we are ready to believe such commitment at the moment, whatever change may happen afterwards. as for the belief in an everlasting love, that's another thing.
then you may be asked whether there is such a thing as an everlasting love. i'd answer i believe in it. but an everlasting love is not immutable.
you may unswervingly love or be loved by a person. but love will change its composition with the passage of time. it will not remain the same. in the course of your growth and as a result of your increased experience, love will become something different to you.
in the beginning you believed a fervent love for a person could last indefinitely. by and by, however,“ fervent” gave way to “ prosaic” . precisely because of this change it became possible for love to last. then what was meant by an everlasting love would eventually end up in a sort of interdependence.
we used to insist on the difference between love and liking. the former seemed much more beautiful than the latter. one day, however, it turns out there's really no need to make such difference. liking is actually a sort of love.by the same token, the everlasting interdependence is actually an everlasting love.
i wish i could believe there was somebody who would love me for ever. that's, as we all know, too romantic to be true. instead, it will more often than not be a case of lasting relationship.
